After many delays and much ballyhoo, it’s finally available on Amazon Kindle. It’ll trickle out to the other vendors as the files run thru the various processes.

  1. Shannon says:

Thanks, Skipper. I just finished the audio series again and am still enthralled. Great work and I love having them available for me to read. Best of luck as you continue!

  2. Jon says:

Woohoo! I’ve been dying to read this! Glad you were able to work things out with the publisher.

  3. Ross says:

I’ve been trying to figure out how to purchase this new release but have not been able to find a link. Nothing on the Kindle store. Nothing through Ridan. Suggestions? Patience?

  4. The Captain says:

Sorry. I munged up the link.

You should be able to find it on Amazon by clicking on the cover image.

  5. Joseph says:

Are signed paperback versions going to be available? I have the rest of the series that way and would like to finish it out getting all of them signed. Can’t wait to finally get a copy in my hand. :-)

  6. The Captain says:

Yes, but you’ll need to order them through Ridan and it’ll be at least a week before paper makes its way through the system and I get a case of them here to sign.

  7. John Hibdon says:

Thanks I got mine this morning. I am glad for you that this one is out. This should drive your sales number up for all the books I hope. Now you need to forget this one and get Captians Share ready to go just at the right time to keep old MO going for your sales. I so can’t wait for the next Tanth book.

  8. Congratulations Skipper! So excited for you =) All the best on your first days of selling!

  9. David says:

Done! I’ve been intentionally NOT listening to DS for the last, oh, 6 months, so I can read it “fresh”. :)

  10. Simon Silva Jr. says:

Thanks for sticking with it Nathan.

I have been waiting for this to continue my Kindle adventures with Ish.

    I wish life had a scroll-back buffer…

  11. Tara Li says:

You’re running ahead of Ridan in announcing it, that’s for sure!

  12. Lance Mackey says:

I’ve been looking forward to this for a long time! Glad to see things are finally moving.

  13. Robin says:

Ridan is waiting to post our site once the books have populated through. The Nook page has just gone live:

    http://www.barnesandnoble.com/w/double-share-a-space-opera-nathan-lowell/1110579118?ean=2940014491020

  14. TheSFReader says:

Robin, glad to see you here. Do you know, per chance, how come Nathan’s “Share” books have DRMs at Kobo ? I’ve just checked, and they are without at Amazon.

  15. Josh L. says:

Glad to hear the presses are rolling again!

Any chance of a word on hard covers yet?

  16. TGreen says:

I note that Ridan is the publisher. Good :) That
means less Nathan-as-editor and more Nathan-as-author.

Robin? Glad to see you among the vertical again.

  17. barbinbandon says:

Wheeeeeeeee! Thanks for the heads up. All loaded and ready to read.

  18. Jeff Savage says:

Captain, just downloaded. Thank you, thank you, thank you.

    Keep them coming!

Now for a really late night reading, with a comfy chair, a shedding cat, and a way too fat doberman vying for my lap!

  19. MWeingartner says:

    756 pages on Nook…completed in 3 hrs 26 minutes…next…sadly cannot handle audio books…

  20. MBARON says:

Was the delay due to creating spectacular cover art!

  21. Captain, what are you thinking? Top 100 on Amazon this time around? Gracious, I’ve my fingers crosse!

  22. The Captain says:

    Glad you like it, MBaron

    I’m hoping, Mike. :)

  23. eric says:

DARNIT! I just finished this book, after waiting so patiently for the last millennium or so. And now it’s done…

Please tell me I won’t have to wait another millenium drifting aimlessly????

  24. The Captain says:

I’m working on Captain’s Share edits now.

  25. eric says:

I’m serious, though, Cap’n, I did wait patiently… and I’ll await Captain’s Share just as patiently! I don’t want to read it until you say it’s ready to be read!

  26. Jim Caplan says:

Buying it now. If for no other reason than to pay for the pleasure from listening to the podio version.

  27. Jack says:

I haven’t seen it mentioned anywhere yet, but there seems to be a formatting error with the punctuation for all sentences that end a quote/dialogue, e.g.

“Learn them early and learn them well. Remediation is painful” should be: painful.”

It seems to affect only the end sentence in quotes.

In any case, I won’t be allowing this to keep me from enjoying the book.

    Found in the kindle version.

  28. The Captain says:

It’s not in the manuscript that way but I see it in the sample.

    I’ll notify Robin.

  29. Jean Eelma says:

#11 in Kindle Sci Fi, and featured on Amazon as a “hot new release” HURRAH!

  30. Lance Mackey says:

Arrg, bought it direct from Ridan first thing this morning, but didn’t notice until afterwards that it says that they don’t email you the link for the book until the next business day (which is Monday), so no Double Share for me this weekend. Guess that gives me time to re-read the first three :)

  31. Geoff says:

Great read as were all the previous “Ish” stories.

    Next? ;)

  32. TheSFReader says:

Not yet available at Kobo though.

  33. The Captain says:

It’ll take a while (a couple of weeks at least) to filter out to the periphery, SFR. We’re relying on Smashwords to put them out for anyplace not B&N or Amazon, I think, and that can take several weeks to propagate out thru Sony, Kobo, etc.

  34. Cpragman says:

    Thanks Captain!
Time to pay you back for all the great audio!

  35. Frankie Gouge says:

    Great cover!

  36. Donald C. Miller says:

Great read, but over far too quickly. I’ll be haunting your website until the next Share book is out. As much as I would like that to be tomorrow, don’t release it until it is ready and up to the quality of the first four.

  37. Tom R says:

Outstanding! Well worth the wait. Not to be greedy, but next please!!!

  38. Alex says:

Not many releases I purchase on sight. As soon as I saw this link, I bought it. It’s a real pleasure to pay for your work.

Please continue the solar clipper tales! The audio books were wonderful!

  39. Mark Roberts says:

Wished it made it through the iBooks process a little bit faster. I broke down and bought in Kindle format.

  40. Casen Forrest says:

I just finished reading Double Share on my Kobo Vox (E-Pub purchased from Barnes & Noble)

I noticed a few sentences that seemed to have the wrong word – the worst of which is listed below:

    CHAPTER FORTY-EIGHT
    DIURNIA ORBITAL
    2358-NOVEMBER-16

After all the excitement, the actual final approach and dock with Breakall was pretty anticlimactic.

Breakall should be Diurnia — just wanted you to know!

I love the series and eagerly await future Ishmael books!

  41. eric says:

Now that Casen mentions it, Captain, in one of the chapters toward the end, the dates keep jumping around between November and September. Got a bit confusing!

I don’t have time right now to hunt those down, but I’ll see if I can’t get you a citation for it later today.

  42. eric says:

The first place to start looking is in Chapter 45. Your heading has the date as 2358-November-7. Ish takes the watch: ““I have the watch, Ms. Novea. Logged on 2358-September-2, at 05:45 per standing order”

After this, it seems to happen relatively frequently.

  43. Jonathan Bailey says:

I ordered this for my kindle within 8 seconds of seeing the email from Ridan in my inbox. Great to see it in print at last.

  44. Wayne Robinson says:

Woohoo! Can’t wait to read it. It will definitely be the next thing I read after the current book I’m working through.

  45. Elizabeth Gustwick says:

Just saw the email announcement and placed an order with Ridan. I’m delighted this did worked out for you and hope it’s smooth sailing ahead. Can’t wait for the Podiobooks of your newest books! Safe voyage, Captain.

  46. Elizabeth says:

Just saw the announcement email and placed an order. I’m very glad this worked out and hope it’s smooth sailing ahead. If possible, can you post an update about your new books and if there is a current estimate of a Podiobooks schedule? Thanks, Captain!

  47. Phil says:

Did my usual search on Kindle the other day and saw Double Share was there, bought it straight away and finished reading it on Sunday.
You are one of the only authors who always gets a 5 star rating from me, I cannot express how much I enjoy your writing style.
Now just got to wait for the next in the series to come out.

  48. The Captain says:

At the moment, I’m working on the first pass edits of Captain’s Share, Elizabeth. That’ll push new work back a bit.
