Yeah. Not a title I thought I’d use here.
A few months back, Debora Geary made an offhand comment on a forum. It was something along the lines of, “Yeah, and pink snowbunnies will ski in hell before THAT happens.” Within a few hours, a graphic artist had whipped up the cover and a totally silly project was born.
This is a flash fiction anthology from twenty people who have nothing in common except they volunteered to write a story using “pink snowbunnies in hell” or some variation thereof. I have a story in there — a bit of backstory about Stacie Arellone before she joined the Agammemnon.
The whole collection of stories is 99-cents and all proceeds will go to an animal shelter that we haven’t picked yet. We don’t expect this is going to make a lot of money, but we all had a lot of fun putting it together. Well, maybe everybody but Debora Geary.
Anyway, you can find it on Amazon and Smashwords. It’s a cool way to discover some new indie authors that you might otherwise never run across. Give it a try and see what you think.
It was funner than you think… Well, until I had to standardize formatting by 20 different people.
Proceeds are going to local shelters known by the contributing authors, so that we can be sure the funds will go to good use.
And it’s worth $0.99 just to see Nathan work skis into the Solar Clipper universe :D.
It’s books and projects like this that really impress me about the power for authors to directly produce their own ebooks and immediately make them availiable everywhere. The comparison between this and the time it would take to do this through print, with a regular publisher, just staggers me.
(Downloaded my copy yesterday and looking forward to it!)
Nice little gem, Nate!
That was a nice little story. I had wondered about the supposed history between those two. :)
I’m thrilled to see this out there. I’ll be picking my copy up as soon as I get the chance.
I threw a quick blog post up over lunch to help add to the hype!

Debora is awesome for putting such outstanding effort into the anthology. We went through multiple editors, roughly 20 boxes of chocolate, and a few rounds of formatting, and it was all worth it. Thanks Debora!
Fun stories. I like the quick look at other authors and of course, a glimpse of old friends’ backstories.
I also discovered the Kindle version of the “The Astonishing Amulet of Amenartasâ€

Can’t get enough of Mr. Lowell’s writing! More please sar!
