First of May

It’s been a while since I posted anything, mostly because I didn’t want to post more “not news.”

I still don’t have anything positive to report.

Yet.

But if you’re looking for Double Share, this would be a good time to get signed up on my mailing list. That way if there happens to be any news–like a release or something–you’ll be in a good place to find out about it.

You’ll remember that I said I wasn’t going to make any more “it’s going to be published” posts. The first notice you’ll get from me is “Here’s the link.”

I have said elsewhere that I’m working on the edits and they’re flowing smoothly.

That’s a good sign.

Just sayin’.

;)

Wink wink nudge nudge say no MORE! Say no more, say no more, say! no! MOOOORE!

    Sounds good to me!

  2. Jeff Savage says:

Captain, I hope, hope, hope, this is a a good sign. Looking so forward to Double Share, and the rest. I really hope this is a move forward. Too much time with no real news, nothing on Ridan, and little here.

  3. Cat says:

Is there no setting it up for pre-order on Amazon? Then those of us who are on your mailing list but have to do email bankruptcy about every two weeks would be sure and get it when it releases. Not that I am excited about it or anything:)

  4. The Captain says:

    @Jeff – me too.

    @Cat – I’ve asked Ridan about it.

It’s apparently not a function that’s available unless your name is MacMillan or Random House or something. In theory it’s available for paper, but that’s not going to help us with ebooks.

  5. Joe Salamido says:

I just got done reading and listening to the series for the 4th time. It still engrosses me and leaves me wanting for more.

Are you still planning to have a new Ishmael Wang trilogy done in 2012 as you said in your January update?

I know you have alot on your plate. Just wondering if the publishing problems caused you to revise your goals.

  6. The Captain says:

    I’m cautiously optimistic.

If I can get the local situation straightened out here — and get the rest of the books actually out there — even if I don’t get all three done by year end, I’ve still got a shot at a couple of them. :)

  7. Amia says:

Hey, Cap’n. I know I’ve purchased Amazon books on pre-order before, though now that I look, the book I was thinking of was published by Daw.

It sucks that Amazon will only allow pre-orders for the “big guys” and not for independent authors who go other routes.

That said… have you considered a kickstarter project? You could pull in extra funding by offering bonuses for various funding levels- (MP3 CDs containing all six books in podcast form, hard copies as well as digital downloads, etc)

    Just a thought. :)

  8. The Captain says:

@Amia – Actually, no. There really isn’t anything to fund. I’m operating with a positive cashflow now so a Kickstarter is really only more overhead for me to deal with.

What I really *need* to do is finish a half dozen of these works-in-progress :)

  9. Robert Bredimus says:

I kept my word and bought Double Share today and finished it. As much as I enjoyed listening to the podcasts, reading it really brought it home for me. So when is Captain’s Share going to be available. Ha Ha!

  10. Hellbent says:

Worth the wait, well done! Can’t wait for Capt’s Share. Just wish I had the patience to listen to a book.
Are there any other authors you’d recommend?

  11. Steve Bergeron says:

I love reading the “share” series. I just got double share and its already finished….

The only thing that I wish for is a more difficult to read book…in other words, longer lasting.

I look forward to reading the next one, and the one after that.
