I take it names in italics are changes since the previous book? If so, why is Sarah Krug still in italics for the _Full Share_ roster?

Obviously because I’m a clod who can’t keep even simple details straight. Thanks for point out my failings. :)

I fixed it.

Since Ish is half share in book two, wouldn’t that make him an Engineman instead of a Machinist?

Yup. You’re right. Fixin’ it now

Actually, as I’m thinking about it, I wonder if the handbook is wrong. Which is supposed to be the full share position? Machinist or Engineman?

After listening to a few more episodes, I am convinced (again) that the handbook is correct. :)

Dang it. And here I was (seriously) planning to figure out and write all this down for reference. Well, it appears you took the fun out of that.

What Sucks, I listened to book 4 not knowing there was 1,2 or 3… crap… Still great story!

I was just relistening to the entire series again for the umpteenth time and caught a strange anomoly. Sarah Krugg joins the crew and is from the South Coast. Is she related to Otto or Benjamin Krugg? Daughter or granddaughter of Otto?

Why, yes. Yes, she is. :)

I was thinking about all the jobs aboard and started to think who does the laundry. someone has to clean the ship suits. Isn’t that a strewards duty, and who does the regular cleaning. i hate when my brian focuses on the details.

Love the story thou, I’m listening to it for the 9th time all the way thought. It’s like white noise to me, and helps me focus on my work.

I assumed someone from engineering or environmental takes care of laundry (otherwise it would have to be a stationer who does it, not anyone from on the ship’s roster). I also assumed it was something they did at every port. Unload dirty laundry and swap it for clean as part of ship’s expense. So the actual laundry would be on station where there’s more room and resourses. Same, I would think, of sheets and the replacing of depleted soap, shampoo, etc.
