Some of you know that I spent the day with the fine folks at Ridan Publishing yesterday. We had an excellent day of planning and prep. I’ve got some work to do but the end result should be amazing.
Keeping in mind that things periodically change, currently we have a production schedule for my books.

We had a lot of discussions around this schedule and the Ravenwood release is speculative at the moment. It will depend on some things that we can’t predict yet (like how much editing Half Share actually takes, how much work I need to do on Ravenwood, and how much work Ridan takes on from their other authors.) What’s clear to me is that we’ll be getting all the works out with the same quality — or better — that you’ve seen so far in terms of cover art, book layout, etc. Oddness can still happen, but that’s our plan for now.
But wait! That’s not all!
We spent part of the day working on Michael J. Sullivan’s The Crown Conspiracy in preparation for release in Podiobook format. For those of you who love fantasy and like the way I read, standby for a romp! Mike is the artist who did the cover art for Quarter Share but he’s an author himself and has a six book series in production. Book four, The Emerald Storm was recently released, and he’s working on book five now.

If you didn’t get one of the “release tee shirts” either before or at the event, we’ve placed an order for another printing. You can order them from the same secret link you used before. There will be a few more mediums, but a number of extra larges and larges. This is a limited printing and we probably won’t be printing up any more when these are gone, so order ’em if you want ’em.

Seriously, you might want to to a special promotion for book sales, almost akin to a subscription. Let people pre-order / purchase all of the books up front and have the books trickle in. For series completionists, the idea of buying all your books at the get-go sounds great and it would ensure that you have a bit more of a secured advance.
Wonderful news! Now, for the folks who worked up the tshirts–any chance of something LARGER than an xl? Some of Nate’s fans are in the 3-4x range, and I am more than willing to pay extra. Pleeeese?
Regardless, congrats, Nate, on the book launch, and it sounds like I missed one heck of a time at BaltiCon this year…gotta start saving the pennies for next year!
Great news Nathan for both your upcoming schedule and Michael’s Ryria series starting from the first novel on podiobooks as opposed to previous news posted here, I am looking forward to hearing your readings of them. I have Emerald Storm already queued up in my reading list but this may be demoted a tad if my hardcover copy of Quarter Share arrives before I get to it…. If I have said it once I have said it a thousand times “damn the size of the Atlantic”….

Well crude! I used to look at the site about once a month but nothing was happening so I stopped. Missed out on the wonderful release of Quarter Share and didn’t hear of it for several weeks. I have the book and the t-shirt ordered now and thanks to the above schedule, I won’t miss out on the others. You’re doing a wonderful job Nathan congrats. (I thought I was on an e-mail link?????)

Yeah, I’ve ordered my hardback copy of Quarter Share! And now I learn about the scheduled releases of the others, I am so happy, :-) I cannot wait until my collection is complete. Happy dancing all around the room. Congratulations Nate!!!

I ordered the book from Amazon and have finished it and my husband has also finished it! I went back to Amazon to find the other books but didn’t see any. Then I tried your website and now I know why. I’m so glad the books will be published. As a hearing impaired individual, anything audio is not my preferred media, as you can imagine. I just wish the books would come out quicker! I do want to tell you that they are of very high quality and a pleasure to hold. Don’t forget to digitize–you can also get it out on iPad and Kindle. Thanks for a great start to the series.

I just received my wonderful hardcover Quarter Share! All though I have listened to it several times I consumed it feverously and am almost done, Again! Sorry I missed you at Balticon maybe next year. I can hardly wait for Owner’s Share I can only hope that the Chief and Ish got together and man would I love to hear a Pip and Ish reunion. I am Itching to hear Sarah Kruggs story in Cape Grace. Well Done Sir, This Lowell Junkie has official started with the shakes waiting for your next masterpiece.

Hi Nate, It may be too late to do much about this, but I did come across an error/discrepancy with the hardcover edition that I thought you should be aware of. At the end of chapter 3, when Ish is looking back towards the rear of the ship, the print edition says he sees the stern light twenty kilometers away. Your audio reading had him see the end 200 meters away. I’m guessing the podibook reading of 200 meters is correct. Sorry about the error. I hope this helps.

Any idea on when Owner’s Share will be done. I am really enjoying the journey with Ish, and anxiously awaiting the next chapter in his life! Is there a plan for continuing the series…AARP Share? hee hee hee
Owner’s Share is on the schedule for audio release complete by Labor Day.
And no, I have no plans to continue this series. Operative word there is “plans” so we’ll see what develops.
This is going to sound odd but I had a dream last night that my copy of Quarter Share arrived but when I opened it up it was actually a top secret book called ‘Port Newmar’. I don’t remember if I read any of it or not but I’m sure it was awesome :D

When you do the edits and re-writes for Double Share are you going to change the opening to be a quote from a famous piece of “ancient lit” like the rest of the books?
I’m thinking about it.
As it stands it’s the only book in the series that doesn’t have one.
Well, if you put it to a public vote, I’d vote “Go for it!” As it is, every time I start Double Share that first chapter just doesn’t seem quite as rich without it.
