Ebook Store

This is a test. Please let me know how it works out for you. I’m trying to automate the process and this seemed like a good way to do it.

I’d be delighted to buy directly from you so you get more of the profit.

  2. chris winterbottom says:

You get us addicted to the solar clipper series and then we have to go cold turkey so your editor gets it just right. Any chance of buying before the editors retire and their grandchildren take up your stories?

  3. The Captain says:

There’s a book due out very soon, Chris, and I’ll be publishing more on my own in 2012.

  4. I love your books, the Solar Clipper series has been outstanding and I look forward to the last three ebooks. I read about 50-70 books a year, mostly all sci-fi and was happy to come across your books (running out of good reading material – sci-fi is not a huge producer of books). I am happy to hear that you will be making three more books and I am glad you will handle the publishing.

  5. Some publishers make Advance Reader Copies available. They have errors etc but for those of us with a serious jones for the next book they might be just the thing.

  6. Robert Ujwary says:

How long does it take to get the book?
My paypal payment was processed Jan 8, but i did not receive anything in 4 days.

  7. The Captain says:

Sorry about that. There are two ways to buy a book on this site. One is automatic. One isn’t. They both send me email when somebody buys something but I missed the notice for this one.

It should be in your inbox now.

  8. Robert Swanson says:

Enjoyed the “Solar Clipper” series to date. Burned through Quater Share > Full Share in a week. Enjoying the ride.

  9. rdee says:

Great! Now we can get all our favorites! double share . No pressure. LOL
Keep up the good writing Captain!

  10. James Brackett says:

Love the Solar Clipper series so much I even enjoy proofreading it.

  11. Noah says:

Just frustrated waiting on something that’s already been created to be typed up and shipped. The 1st 4 books were great and I look forward to 5 and 6 and beyond. However, having them *only* available by audiobook seems odd.

Please continue your great work and get these into text sooner rather than later. Your fans are waiting.

Kudos on a great series Nathan. Now go kick an editor in the butt for us please…

  12. Bruce Banks says:

Do what Baen Books does – sell ebook *.earc here & let amazon sell the final edits. You will probably get paid twice. I know I have paid more than once numerous times & don’t mind at all. A great series like the Solar Clipper series deserves a bit extra – at least in my opinion

  13. MIRACLE says:

didn’t work at all. there’s no clue how to order a book
p.s love you solar trader books so far but 2 thins

what happened at the academy? definitely a book there
    bring the gang back together

    miracle

  14. The Captain says:

Ok I’m not sure what problem you’re having Miracle.

And I’ve addressed the “Ishmael Goes To College” issue several times. We’ve already got “Bedtime for Bonzo” and “Back to School.” I think all the college stories are pretty much done. Until I can think of some story I want to tell there, it’s not happening. I’ve reserved the title Port Newmar on the off chance something occurs to me but at the moment I’ve got too many other stories to tell.

Bringing the gang back together is also not happening. It would be like having all your high school sports team get together 30 years later for another go at the game. Also not happening.

Which isn’t to say we won’t be seeing some of them again. We just won’t be seeing the “old gang” together.

  15. David Maughs says:

Amazon dose not take paypal . FYI

  16. Ron Silva says:

Love your Trader Tales, When will #5 & # 6 be out on KINDLE ???
    Thanks for a reply…

  17. The Captain says:

I’m trying to get them both out by the end of the year, but I need to re-publish books one thru four — and that’s taking time.

Captain’s Share will be out in November (not sure when but that’s my goal) and I’m hoping I’ll have all the re-work done so I can get Owner’s out in December, but if not, January 2013.

    Thanks for hanging in there.

  18. Ron Silva says:

Thanks for your reply on when your captains and owners share will be out on KINDLE
    Please let know thru my e-mail… Ronsilva@ gmail.com. Thanks….

  19. martin cowin says:

Glad your making your own way now. Ridan do not seem to appreciate that us readers want to read your books at all.
I can only see ‘A Light in the Dark’ here at the moment and I already have that from Amazon.

Will all you books be here soon?
Are they compatible with my Kindle?

When I first read ‘Quarter Share’ it just made feel so happy and relaxed (ex Royal Navy submariner) you captured the feelings for me that seemed very real and reminiscent of my early days in the RN.

    Live long and prosper.

  20. Kevin says:

I’m happy you are going this route, but before I use it. I would like to see you using ssl encryption on the website. I say this because I reach a checkout screen and I am still in a non encrypted page.

  21. Barry says:

I appreciate how you record the day to day lives on of shipboard life. I find it interesting that as the ships get smaller, Ishmael’s rank gets higher.
I served aboard a 1945 US Destroyer during Viet Nam and the routine on the Lois very much brings up memories of those watch standing days.
It amazes me how the mundane existence of Ishmael progressing through life, at least as compared to a space opera that has violent confrontations, is so interesting. It just gives credit to your story spinning abilities and the power of getting us hooked on what happens next in his life.
It just goes to show that science fiction is still about the people and no the special effects. In fact I like the way you vaguely describe the technology. I think that if you went into too great a detail describing the technology it would lose the feel of the story.
Bravo Nathan, you have captured all of our imaginations in more of a Lifetime style than a Star wars style.
I am a budding science fiction writer and I listen to the adventures from Quarter Share through Captain’s Share to hopefully glean some of your talent for creating the visual image through words.

  22. Eric says:

I have really enjoyed the first two Solar Clipper books… Great fun, easy to read, and I cruised through them. Like many others I too look forward to reading Full, Double and Captains Share. Like others on these threads, my schedule ensures that I squeeze my fun-reading (the non-business books) whenever I can, so I am really looking forward to the re-release of the ebooks. I look forward to them being available, please let us know when they are.

    Thanks

    Eric

  23. Michael Oliver says:

    Hi

I love this series and have read 1/4 & 1/2 share where can I get full share in e book format as it isn’t available at Amazon.

    Many thanks

  24. John says:

Sir, as a person who has been eagerly chomping at the bit for The Captains Share and Owners share, I have to ask, What is the delay, in detail? Since the fall of 2011 when I discovered your series, your various communications have all conveyed 3 things. 1) the stories are complete and written. 2) they are Coming Soon. 3) there is some publishing delay. Are these delays product related? Or are they financially motivated? Are there contractual items preventing release? Giving us details will at lease assuage some concerns and stave off the ravenous Clipper Fans. Or, and here’s an idea … Release them yourself, now! Please?

  25. Miguel Braojos says:

    Hi,
I am enjoying the series, congratulations on the books!.
However, I could not buy “Full share” from Amazon or anywhere else…
I would appreciate you sending it over by email as attachment and I will donate the price you ask.
sorry by the manual request but your shop is “closed”…
    Regards

    MAB

  26. The Captain says:

    John,
The biggest delays have been related to my ex-publisher. I’ve now got the publication rights reverted and am in the process of re-issuing the series.

Captain’s Share has completed the editing process and as soon as I get Double Share re-issued (next month), Captain’s Share will be next. My goal is to have the series complete by midsummer 2013.

I still need to get Owner’s Share edited so I’m not sure how long that process might take.

  27. Ed Oleen says:

thank goodness you got Captain’s Share back from your “editor”. He/she/they did a rather lousy job. I have everything through “Double Share” on my Kindle, and I’ve been making notes on the errors I’ve found. Some are rather egregious errors in English useage (“I” instead of “me”, for instance), others are rather strange: in “Double Share” when arriving back at Diurnia, they are said to be arriving at Breakall (Chapter 48, first sentence…) I would be nice not to have these little (and not so little) boo-boos removed BEFORE the book is published. I may be a stickler, but I had English Grammer beaten into my head with a (figurative) hammer in grade school.

  28. Valerie says:

I love this idea! It is always my preference to see the author receive more than the publisher and printer!

Mr. Lowell, I love your books. Especially your Solar Clipper Series. I’ve fallen into this obsession with SciFi. C.J. Cherryh, Nathan Lowell, Steve Miller & Sharon Lee… I just can’t seem to get enough, late bloomer that I am.

I would be honored if you or some of your fans would recommend a few more authors that write with this kind of character driven passion.

    Hopelessly addicted!
