October Update

I’ve posted a general update over on NathanLowell.com but for those who only look here…

Owner’s Share is a bit behind on editing. I was hoping to publish it yesterday but only have 2/3rds of the edits back. I’m working through those while I’m waiting on the rest. I don’t have a new delivery date. Things here in Colorado are a bit unsettled still. I’m cautiously optimistic that it’ll be this month, but whether it’ll be mid-month or more of a trick-or-treat? No idea.

Somebody asked in the comments about paperbacks. Yes, I’m working on re-releasing the paperbacks in the new formats. I will do hardcovers as well, eventually.

Quarter Share is out in paper and I’m marking up Half Share now. It’s a tedious, slow, aggravating, and soul-sucking endeavor but if I don’t do it, I’ll hear about it for the rest of my life. Originally I thought I’d get all the books established in all the formats before moving on. I can’t do that. If I don’t write something new pretty soon, I’m going to asplode.

Zypheria’s Call is still on the table for audio production. Soon, because I want to use that to re-acquaint myself with the universe and the story before starting book three.

Several people have written to tell me that Amazon still has the old books up. Yes. I’ve written to them but they can’t/won’t take them down for some reason. The paperback versions have to stay because of the used book market, but the ebooks should have come down months ago. I’m contemplating filing a DMCA takedown. It may come to that.

That’s about it for now. If you have any questions, leave a comment – and I’ll try not to wait weeks before checking in again. :/ (sorry about that.)

Perhaps Lois is responsible for Amazon failing to remove the ebooks. I certainly needed them at this moment in my life. I thank you for them.

When I was married many years ago..I was among one of the lowest forms of life; the book snob..in my defense, I was only 25. My great friend and now former husband was mad for sci-fi novels which I deemed 1 step above Horse Operas(never having read either). Several years later I was working theatre in Honolulu and making my usual pittance. I got a ride home from night performance with a member of the crew and was bemoaning the fact that I was “out of book.” And I wouldn’t have the money for a new book or time to go to the library, what with the show running. This fellow said he had a bag of books for a charity in the back of his vehicle and I could have them. I was ecstatic! I rushed up to my tiny apartment and emptied the bag to find to my snobby dismay that they were all hard sci-fi. I was devastated. But the walls were closing in so I grabbed one and opened a book as well as the longest love affair of my life.

Alison – DMCA is Digital Millenium Copyright Act. It’s the club that mainstream media uses against people they don’t like.
