Mid Winter Update

It’s been too long since I’ve updated this site. Please accept my heartfelt apologies for that.

The updated covers — and corrected links — are now on the “Get the Books” page here. Full Share has only been live for about a day. It’s been caught in limbo for the last week and a half while Amazon went through the review process but it’s finally up and read.

Double Share’s re-issue is next. I know all you people are anxiously awaiting Captain’s Share but I have to do this one step at a time. My goal is to get the last two books in the series out and done by mid-summer 2013. I’ve got a schedule and the only question is how well I’ll be able to follow it.

Many of you have wondered what the delay has been. I’ve been a bit distracted by the passing of my younger sister. She lost a two-year struggle against cancer on the last day of January. It took a toll on my productivity, coming to a head just as the avalanche of re-work fell on me. It’s been difficult to focus on anything, let alone the fiddly detail work of re-editing and re-publishing books.

In spite of that, I’m very pleased with the re-work and look forward to getting the new stuff out ASAP. Fingers crossed that the worst is behind.

  14. Jeff Savage says:

Nathan, my sincere condolences. I certainly understand. I lost my father last year, and my mother had a stroke last month. I had a cousin that my parents raised, that became almost an older sister to me, passed 13 years ago due to non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma. So I understand what you are going through. I have had to set some of my aspirations aside, and had to make sacrifices for family. Family comes first, business, writing, and etc, sometimes has to take a back chair to family issues.

While I am awaiting your books, I certainly can see where work, and writing, has been difficult. You certainly did not need the problems with your publisher, and etc.

Myself, and the rest of your fans, will be waiting for what you have for us. If nothing else, you know you have a great fan base, and I hope that will help sustain you through these trying times.

    Thanks, Jeff

Losing a sibling is rough..I lost an older brother in 2006-it was he who hooked me on Sci-Fi/Fantasy years ago. I can’t imagine losing a younger one. Take ALL the time you need. It does get easier– not better.. just easier.
    Eva

Nate, my heart goes out to you. Lost my wife last year after a 2 year fight with Cancer. If I didn’t have the share series to escape into I don’t know what I would have done. Thank you for that. Just know that they never really leave us. Be strong my friend.

I am so sorry to hear about your loss. My husband died a few years ago, so I definitely know how such a tragic event can throw someone. It really is amazing that you managed to publish nonetheless.

  30. Chris says:

Accept my heartfelt condolences on the loss of your sister. I lost my father this May and Mother in 08, and know how hard it can be to focus at times. I recently discovered your Solar Clipper series and it has been a breath of fresh air. Finally a story about the rewards of honesty, hard work, and faith and trust in your fellow man. I devoured “Quarter Share”, and am working on “Half Share” already. And have already purchased “Full Share” on Kindle. Keep up the good work and once again condolences for your loss.
