It’s not quite Labor Day but before I get sidetracked by the long weekend…
Old Business:
The Trader’s Tales books thru Captain’s Share are now available on Kindle, Nook, and Kobo. They are working thru the labyrinth toward iBook as well.
Quarter Share has been re-issued in paper and you can find it on Amazon.
The links on Get The Books should be correct. If I’ve botched one, please let me know.
Owner’s Share is with the editor. It should be back to me by September 15th and I’m shooting for an October 1 release. A lot will depend on just how much work I need to do with it. It’s a huge book (more than twice as long as Quarter Share) so I’ve got my fingers crossed.
South Coast will be next in line. I haven’t even done the pre-editor cleanup pass yet, so probably November at the earliest. It’s a much shorter work and I’m planning to get it out ASAP.
I still haven’t gotten into the booth to record Zypheria’s Call. Sorry about that.
Current Business:
I’m grinding through the paperback galley proofs for each of the published books. That’s why I haven’t gotten the recording done yet. I’m hoping to get Half Share done today and Full Share underway for next week. I get a lot of requests for paperbacks so I’ve made that a priority. It’s also part of my overall strategy of getting the entire backlist up in all the formats.
Yes, hardcover, limited editions are on the slate but not until 2014 sometime.
New Business:
Cape Grace – the sequel to South Coast – and The Hermit of Lammas Wood – the final book in Tanyth’s first trilogy – are both on the slate for this year. This assumes that I’ll actually finish publishing the backlist sometime in the near future. I know those of you who are all caught up want me to stop messing around and give you new content right now, but this is something I have to do to get the house in order so I can move forward. It’s just one of those things. Given how much stuff I’ve managed to clear in the last 6 weeks, I’m feeling pretty confident that we’ll have new content very soon.
Looking ahead to 2014, I’m planning another Ishmael Wang trilogy and a second trilogy set in the Golden Age universe featuring a new cast and crew. Those two will intersect somewhere near the end. I’m not sure how that’s all going to work yet, but I’m planning on a book every other month next year. It’s good goal for me, but it’s the reason I have to get all the old work off my desk. I can’t afford any distractions once this new production cycle gets going.

Thanks very much for the frequent updates. The Golden Age books are well worth the wait. I have to say that it’s a long time since I’ve gotten so much pleasure from a Sci-Fi author. Your imagination and distinctive “voice” are quite wonderful.

I understand how having an unfinished project can claw are your creative juices. Clear out your backlog, because I’m looking forward to a new crew adventures. Will we perhaps see pirates or have they been cleared for the most part?
Is there any plan to publish hard copy paperback versions of Captain’s Share and Owner’s Share? If so, when might they hit Amazon?
I have thoroughly enjoyed all of your writings, your characters and plot lines are very enjoyable. I have relished your tales and I tell all of my friends that these are books to read and enjoy. Please keep up the excellent work, but remember to stop and smell the roses from time to time.

Yes, Littlejohn .. paperbacks are coming. Whether I can get them done before Christmas or not … that’s up for grabs. Working in paper is tedious and only a marginally effective use of my time.
