A well written and very well read book. I’m keen to find out what happens to Ishmael Wang and the crew of the SC Lois McKendrick next. Thank you for sharing a great piece of work.

Dear Nathan;

This is really outstanding work. Your story arc(s), fully-realized characters and most every technical component is nicely realized.

Still, there are many works out there that are equally meritorious… and they lack an essential quality that I find in abundance in your novels.

I reckon it is an entirely personal projection, but there is a fetching honesty that seems woven into both plot and character. It is terribly difficult to put a name to what this ‘thing’ is… but yours is one of the most effortlessly heartfelt and authentic works in the PodSphere.

It would be great if there were a separate feed for we poor, benighted Mac users. Often the updates from Podiobooks can be tardy, misnamed or incomplete.

All the Best. Can’t wait for Full Share.

Well Done.

J

All I can say is “WOW”. :-) As a fledgling writer, I really enjoy the way your stories are put together - the dialogue between characters feels very authentic.

Now then…as an actor and aspiring narrator of audio novels and podcasts, I also must say “WOW”. I’m very curious to know if you are also an actor. Your portrayal of each character is a pleasure to listen to and I found myself drawn in immediately. I keep thinking I’ve heard your voice narrating books other than your own…is that true? :-)

Anyway, thanks for the listening pleasure, as well as a great road map for me as a writer and performer! Good luck and keep the great stuff coming.

P.S. I REALLY hope Full Share is not the last book with these characters. :-)

No, I’m just a guy writing books in his basement in his spare time.

These three were all written in the same 10 week period starting Jan 12, 2007, one after another. I record in a spare bedroom now, but Quarter Share was recorded on a $20 headset onto low quality MP3 in my car — it was the only place quiet enough. I upgraded after that and I really like the new sound.

Thanks for your words of encouragement.

Dear Nate;

Frankly, I am running out of verbs and nouns that properly convey how much our house enjoys your work! Full Share is all that we hoped for, and much more.

Are your books available on Amazon (or other online seller)? Given what happened to Sigler on Amazon, my daughters and I decided to try elsewhere to buy books from our favorite Podio Authors.

Very, very well done!

All the Best,

JJ

I’m still looking for a hardcopy publisher. The only version of the books available at the moment are the podiobooks.

Hey Nate,
Just wanted to put my two cents in… I’m really enjoying the entire series. I’m waiting on the next episodes of Full Share, so I’ll probably go back and listen to the other two novels again. Excellent job! Your excellent story stands on it’s own and doesn’t need any of the extra wizardry that a lot of other podiobooks have. Keep it up and I hope you’ve got books planned for well beyond Captain’s Share. ;)

Hey Nate, greetings from Sunny Florida! Hurry man! I can’t wait to see how full share ends. Your books are my favorite from podiobooks!

Do you have a schedule for Double Share yet?

Have you thought about publishing through BAEN? Submission stuff is at http://www.baen.com/FAQS.htm . I am a big fan of eBooks and have purchased a shelf full from Baen.

Thanks for the great work, please keep it coming.

Nathan,

I just finished QS, HS, and what was available of FS over the weekend. I couldn’t take the mp3 player out even while working. All I can say is fantastic! This was only the second time that I made a donation on podiobooks, but it is well worth it.

I second the comment by Lee. If you have these books as Word documents, you should submit them to the slush pile at the Baen Bar at the very least.

Nate, I’m signed up to received your email notices but have never received any. This is not an issue now, but I’d like to see if we can sort it out after Full Share is finished. Thanks! Elizabeth

Nate, Well like everyone else I’m an ardent admirer and can’t wait for the next episode. While I’m listening I feel like there is no place I’d rather be than on the Lois sailing the deep dark with Ishmael, Pip, and the rest of the crew. I’ve been reading SF since I was a kid and frankly had gotten a little weary of the genre. Your stories have rekindled the delight I take in a good story well told. Thank you! I wish you all the best in finding a publisher and getting the recognition and success you so clearly deserve.

Nate I’m in the same boat as Elizabeth for some reason I’m not getting the e-mails. I have checked my screened mail folder as well. Nothing seams to get to me at all except the first automated “click here to confirm” E-Mail.

I, like Elizabeth am willing to wait for you to have time, but I’d really like to be able to keep up to date as well.

Thanks for the great story. I’m looking forward to more.

Thanks for some great fiction! I have just finished listening to Quarter Share and I can’t wait to move on to the existing and future installments. The story rings home with me because of the normalcy of life on the ship and extraordinary contributions by normal people. In today’s world where everyone mostly looks out for themselves, I find it very peaceful to listen to your works and the sense of hope and teamwork they portray. Please keep it up… :)

Just a comment. I signed up for email notices. I also get an RSS feed sent to me. I find out what is happening because of the RSS feed, but have never, ever received an email notice.

I sent out email notices only very rarely and only when I have something to announce that I think is important enough to get out via email.

For example, when I release a new book, or make a “special feature” available - like the “AfterWord” file - or something like that, I’ll send out a notice.

I also send out notes when I’m traveling and going to be able to get together with fans in other parts of the country. So far, none of those has worked out, but that’s what I use it for.

I try not to hit your inboxes too frequently because I really don’t wanna overstay my welcome there.

Hi Nate. I am a new fan and posted a comment in another part of this site. I just wanted to say that your reading of these stories that you have written is amazing. The inflections you use are in the right places and it makes me feel like am in the story, like the standing next to you but not seen. Your story line is fantastic, it flows like butter, and it makes you want to continue even when you have to leave. Keep it up and I hope to see and read more of your stories. Thank you for your fresh talent.

I’m really enjoying Quarter Share (trying REALLY hard to take my time, enjoy, and not rush through in one sitting and on to the other three just as quickly), but there’s a snag. Is anybody else having issues with Episode 13 skipping quite a lot?
