I have enjoyed your stories immensely. Every one of them has made me feel more confident. The characters are deep, interesting, and the stories themselves are true to life and truly explore the wide spectrum of imagination. Your voice is very soothing as well, there’s really something to listening to the podcasts. All of them have been wonderful and I look forward to your new stories eagerly. I wish you all the best in life and literature since you have provided us with nothing less.

There’s something seriously lacking on this website… A “tip jar”. Some way we can toss a few bucks into the open guitar case?

If I’d subscribed through podiobooks.com I’d be leaving a donation there, but most of the Solar Clipper stories I picked up through iTunes. I’d really like to express my appreciation for the hours of enjoyment I’ve gotten from these stories. Where can I leave the envelope stuffed with bills?

  3. Nate says:

Actually, the iTunes feed comes from Podiobooks. They cut thru the dross and get the books listed faster than I could on my own.

But you’re not the first to ask, so I’m going to go ahead and put one up there today.

Thank you so much for your support.

  4. Calvin Smith says:

Do you plan to publish all of the solar clipper series in Kindle format?
    Thanks
    REd Smith

  5. Nate says:

Yes. All the books will be available as Kindle books eventually. See the Production Schedule page for when to look for each.

  6. Jeremy says:

    Hello,
I tried to subscribe to your email newsletter and I keep getting the message “invalid code”

Also, is there a print date for Half Share yet? my wife and I can’t wait to get it in our grubby little hands.
    Thanks for the awesome stories!

    Jeremy

  7. Nate says:

I keep trying to figure out what’s wrong there, Jeremy, but I’m at a loss. I’ll try to add you manually. I’ve had about 40 people sign up (apparently successfully) in the last three weeks so it seems to work for most people. I’m at a bit of a loss as to why it’s not working for you.

Half Share is hung up on my revisions to the editing. It was supposed to be out this month but doesn’t look like I’m going to make it.

Sorry about that but we want it to be as right as we can make it

  8. Shirley says:

Nate, when I put in my email is says that I’m already listed but I NEVER get updates through email. I tried to update my account/subscription and got a notice that a confirmation email would be sent but I NEVER got that. Sure don’t want to miss out on the books. (checked spam and it’s not there). :-(

  9. Shirley says:

OK, so confirmation email finally came through and did go to spam. Put you in my address book so hopefully I won’t miss out on anything important – like limited edition, signed, hardcovers. :-)

  10. Nate says:

    It’s a very low traffic list :)

  11. Bonnie says:

Sorry Nate, I’m also getting the ‘invalid code’ message. Maybe it’s a problem with my provider? Can I prevail upon you to add me to the list manually as well?
REALLY looking forward to Half Share, I’ve re-read Quarter Share on my Kindle until the print is faded. The electronic version was my first exposure to the series, and I’m hooked!

  12. Rich says:

I am about halfway through Quarter Share (on Kindle) and enjoying it very much. Looking forward to seeing the rest of the books on Kindle.

  13. Ron Wolf says:

I tried to sign up for your email list. It didn’t work for me. It sent me the confirmation email, but every time I clicked on the link, or cut-n-pasted the URL. It came up with the message:

Invalid code! Make sure you copied it correctly from the email.

I love your stories, I’ve listened to them all so far (and plan to continue). I’ve also purchased the kindle version of “Quarter Share” and loved it in print too.

  14. Nate says:

Thanks for letting me know, Ron. You’re not the only one that’s had that problem, but I’ve also had several hundred people who haven’t had any problems at all, so I’m not sure what the issue might be.

  15. Lauretta says:

I was introduced to your work as a Parsec Awards judge. Since then, I’ve sold Quarter Share in my store and am looking forward to selling the rest of them as they come out in ‘dead tree’ editions. Here’s to hooking more readers on science fiction!

  16. Nate says:

    Thanks, Lauretta!

The more we spread the word, the more words there are to spread… or something :)

  17. BigMac says:

    My apologies for the correction.

On the head of the Email notices page
“If you’d like to get periodic updates via email, please subscribe to our news letter. I promise note to spam you or sell your contact address.”

should it not be not, not note?
    (tongue twister warning)

  18. Nate says:

thanks – i type fast and sometimes don’t read what I write.

  19. Dick Wissbaum says:

Ok, blazed though Quarter Share and Half Share in a day and a half, now BUMMED that all the rest aren’t available in print or as eBooks yet (audio just doesn’t work for me, sigh). So I’m waiting impatiently for the next…and the next… I haven’t enjoyed a series as much since Jumping…/Bouncing…/Leaping… – and THAT’s high praise indeed!

  20. Richard says:

I signed up for news & got the code not recognised error. I guess I’m just lucky that way.

  21. Nate says:

Sheesh. I wonder what is the story there. I get about 10 or 12 people successfully signing up every day.

  22. Nate says:

Very strange. I just tried to add you. You’re already there, Richard.

  23. Karen says:

As a fellow Educational Technology graduate, I feel compelled to metaphorically bow at your feet. My only suggestion is that you add an ‘about the author’ section so I can finally figure out where you went to graduate school.
I love all your stories. You are wonderful.

  24. Joe Shaw says:

I’ve just finished Owners Share after, of course, having devoured all of the previous works and may I just say … thank you. I started with Quarter Share as an eBook and was very disappointed that (at that time) there were no more. Then I discovered the podcasts and was hooked. I have no notion of why the tales intrigued me so but there’s no denying that they did and I deeply appreciate the voyage. Here’s hoping there are many more.

    Joe

  25. Jarrod Nelson says:

When are the remaining books going to be on Kindle? I read the first 2 in 2 days and need the rest!

  26. Nate says:

Jarrod, check the Production Schedule page for a full calendar, but the next book – Full Share – will be available in text editions (including Kindle) in April.

  27. stuart may says:

I am reading the 1st of your books – quarter share (solar trader sales) and enjoying it very much.

I am on page 61 and I’m reading a short paragraph and I’m unsure if a word was misused -> “For me, I’d rather be underway, even if it’s not my favorite position, then to wait planet-side for a preferred one” … was the THEN suppose to be a THAN ?. Both make sense but it makes more sense if it was THAN rather than THEN.

  28. Nate says:

yes. “Than” should be there. thanks.

  29. Adrian says:

Well, just to be a sheep, and follow the rest of the flock, I’m getting the invalid code message as well. Being an intelligent sheep, I may have an idea of what I did wrong.
I think I clicked the link twice. If it’s a one time only type script, it may have already added me, and then locked up on the second attempt.
If you’d be able to check my subscription, that’d be fantastic.
Hope this helps with the “invalid code” flock.

  31. Jeff Savage says:

So looking forward to this being a good sign. Will be very disappointed if I do not get an e-mail very shortly telling me Double Share is published to Kindle.

  32. Donald C. Miller says:

I tried to sign up for your newsletter but got this message when following the link I was sent,

Invalid code! Make sure you copied it correctly from the email.

Don’t know what went wrong, but I would still like to be added to you list so that I will know when Double Share and the rest of the Share books are available on Kindle.

    Thanks for any help, Don

  33. The Captain says:

    Donald, you’re in there.

    I checked.

  34. Adam says:

your stories are some of the most amazing i have ever heard.. I like Sci Fi action audio books, so when I found yours on iTunes.. at first I didnt get it.. i was waiting for the big plot line, and the action to start, but after awhile it clicked for me, that the story was the action, if that makes sense. I have just listened to all 6 Trader Tales, and I have never been so emotionally involved in a story line, I felt like part of the story. I would like to stay in the Solar Clipper age forever and hear many more stories based in that universe. Great Job, and I am a fan for life now! I cant wait for more to be released to iTunes.

  35. Joe says:

Will the books in the future be in an e-format that is compatible with the Nook? I listen to the complete series about twice a year now.
I am looking forward the reunion.

  36. The Captain says:

Yes, Joe. The Nook versions will be out eventually. :)

  37. Darren says:

Read quarter share in two sittings and bought half share straight away, over half way though and just decided to buy the other four in the series and the bite size novella. I flit and change authors and genre’s and found you by Amazon kindle recommendation. I love your writing style and am enjoying Ish’ s journey. Is there going to be a seventh book in the near future?

  38. The Captain says:

    More books are planned. :)

  39. Kevin Simmons says:

Nathan I’m seriously suspicious of the authorship of the books I’m reading… check out samair in argos by Michael Kotcher. Too many similarities, turns of phrase etc to the share series to be coincidence. Is it you on disguise?

  40. char says:

I’m really missing Ishmael and Pip. Are you going to be doing anymore stories with these two plus Nat and Zoya?

  41. James says:

    Skipper,

just finished listening to most of the Solar Clipper series. The Last series basically a prequel to the meeting the New Engineer and First mate for Pip and Ishmaels company. But with the ending of “Home Run” there still a gap on this series before they sign on to work with Pip and Ishmael. Is there going to be a 4th book also would be nice to have another series with all 4 main characters.

  42. Skipper says:

I have no plans to extend the Smuggler’s Tales. Not saying it won’t happen, but I need a story I want to tell that needs that setting in order to be told.

I’m currently working on the next Ishmael trilogy. The four mains will all be there for it.

Also, http://nathanlowell.com or sign up for the newsletter. I talk about what’s happening regularly there. I only keep this place going for the extra content pages I haven’t migrated yet. :D
