Double Share Delayed

Well, crew, I thought we’d get the book out this month. It was on the Ridan calendar for August as of the end of May but they’re saying September now.

I know the book is with the editor but I haven’t seen the response yet so I don’t know how much more work will have to happen before we can release it. They’ve had the draft for awhile now, so I’m hoping to see that edited draft come back soon and we’ll see about getting the ship back on course. I’m still hoping we’ll get Captain’s Share out in December and Owner’s Share out by April 2012.

In the meantime, Cape Grace is chugging along (slowly right now but building up some speed) and I’m giving serious consideration to releasing the Ravenwood series as a self-publish and sandwiching it between Ridan releases of the Solar Clipper Tales. By the time I could get to that, I’d expect to have Cape Grace, and the Ravenwood sequels both done and available in audio.

That’s a big step for me and we’ll have to see how things shake out over the next couple of months. I’ve got a ton of audio work to do for a variety of people so that’ll also have an effect on my written output.

In the meantime, the Parsec Awards will be announced on September 3rd and I’ll be attending Dragon*Can’t again this year. We’ll be having some kind of Parsec Party during the ceremony so that’ll be a hoot.

That’s all I got for now.

Double Share Loses Parsec

It was a strong field and the newcomer to the mix beat us out.

Congrats to James Durham and FETIDUS for a double Parsec win.

Time to start planning for next year.

Double Share – Finalist!

Find Double Share on Podiobooks.com today. The finalist list for 2008-2009 Parsec Award is up and Double Share made it. Thank you, judges, for picking me for the second year in a row. This makes the third one of my books to make it to the finals list. I’m feeling truly honored!

The competition is pretty strong so I’m not holding my breath but still the extra exposure will be very welcome, particularly since I better have Captain’s Share hitting the interwebs about the time the winner is announced.

Fingers crossed!

Parsec Awards 2009

For the third year in a row, I’ve got a book in the Parsec Awards. To be eligible for a Parsec Award this year the podcast had to have been made between May 1, 2008, and April 31, 2009. The only title eligible this year is Double Share, because I’m such a derelict I only wrote and podcast a single title last year.

As part of that effort, I had to put together a 1-hour sample file of up to 6-clips from the novel as examples of what the book was.

Here it is for your listening pleasure. It’s 5seconds short of an hour.

Double Share on iTunes

It’s taken a few days, but Double Share is now available at the iTunes Store as well as Podiobooks.
