November Update

Not good news, I’m afraid.

Owner’s Share is still stuck in editing. I’m still bogged down in paperback markups.

And I’m going out of my mind.

So, I’m going to do NaNoWriMo this month and write the last book in Tanyth Fairport’s first trilogy in preparation for new Golden Age stories starting in January.

Hang in there. New books are in the pipeline.

You do what you need to Sar.As you know a young mind is a terrible think to lose.

Even “no story” is a story.

  3. Kristin says:

I think all your fans would rather wait for something well done that something rushed . Looking through your amazon forum you have had a great deal of trouble with the publishing of the books as a new reader and now a fan i just wanted to say thanks for all our great work

  4. Brett Tofel says:

Wow! So exciting that there will be more Golden Age. I love that world. Maybe crave it is a better word. Just the fine details of the trading and advancement through the ranks, the sociology of humans who’ve voyaged into space, the technology of solar sailing; the ideas that come from envisioning humans exploded across a galaxy; the finely nuanced characters. All of it is wonderful. Thank you Mr. Lowell, you’re a creative genius and wonderful reader of your own work.

  5. Steve Simpkin says:

Hang in there, Sar. As much as I am enjoying reading and listening to all of your books (more than I can express), I don’t want it to come at the cost of your sanity :)

Stay the course Sar! I’m a very patient person and would rather you take the time to write well rather than crank out a story just to appease the masses. Any sort of update is better than silence in my book. Keep up the great work!

  7. Glen says:

Sar, if it’s worth doing, its worth doing right, sar. I’m just looking forward to the details I missed while listening to the book. I still can believe I missed so much from Captains share.

  8. Shane says:

How can writing a new story not be good news? While I am waiting for Owner’s Share like so many others; I enjoy your writing and look forward to anything you produce. In truth; I have been waiting for Tanyth longer…. Keep up the great work!

  9. Adam Rosen says:

I just want to wish you luck. Although I am eager and excited about the prospect for more Golden Age content, it is always best to take your time and do it right. In an age of self publishing authors, some of whom pump out books almost constantly, I think we’ve been spoiled. However, I am not so young that I can’t remember having to wait years or more for a new book. As long as you’re not George RR Martin waiting decades between books, I don’t have a problem!!! LOL!

  10. AnneC says:

Hang in there and get them right! Good news about Tanyth – I’m looking forward to visiting with her again.

  11. chris winterbottom says:

Sar, the crew has spoken, Sar, We all volunteer Sar and will always be.

  12. Charlie says:

Not to worry, cap’n. Just keep to the present heading & the squalls will blow themselves out. Calmer seas ahead.

  13. Ed says:

Well I for one have given up. I’ll not be clicking back looking for the last book. Sadly. I’m done.

  14. steve says:

It’s worth the wait .. I will just have to listen to the podio again :)

  15. Kathy in FL says:

Any of your books are worth the wait. I can’t tell you how much both I and my husband (and now one of our kids) enjoy your work. :)

I love this story and will probably reread it a number of times to come. I have been writing myself and plan on publishing a book some time in the next year or so. After reading this series I’ve finally decided to work on writing another book or even series about space opera/fantasy. I have read a number of books and series that have finally got me more interested in writing.

I started reading the series just tuesday and finished a few minutes ago.

I like Ishmael wang but felt very sad for him. I thought he was going to get together with either Bev or Brill in the first two or three books. Then the jump from before academy to after throw me off. after that I thought he was going to get together or closer to Arletta. Then once he got together with Gerheart and he was finally owning his own ship that he will finally be leading a life that he wants. then the twist at the end of the last book throw me off and I felt sad for him. The story seems more of a tragedy to me right now since he is losing all those close to him since his mothers death. Noticing on one of the posts on this site that he will finally get a happy ending between book 12 and 18, I feel like I can’t wait but I understand how long it takes to write a book. Keep up the good work!

  17. Drew says:

    Nate,
Glad to hear that there are more Golden Age books to come! Ishmael is one of my favorite characters, and I find his stories very absorbing. Thanks for the great work!

    Drew

  18. Christine says:

I’m looking forward to listening to the podiocasts again. Going to have foot surgery and will listen to your wonderful stories again. I’m looking forward to the Tanyth book as well.

  19. Moon Cat says:

I have just downloaded the Tanyth series and am looking forward to reading them. But I really love the Trader series and Ishmael Wang and am drooling for the Owners Share. Take your time but know that the drool is accumulating and I will be swimming if it’s more than a year. I appreciate your update on your progress and that the book is still on its way. Thanks for sharing your stories with us all.
