Here’s Your Captain’s Share

5Captains_Share_Cover_ebookThe book is finally done and published.

Kindle people can buy it now. I’ll get it out on BN & Kobo as soon as Double Share clears.

Next up:
Getting South Coast ready for text
Recording Zypheria’s Call for podcast
Getting the paper formats ready for CreateSpace
Finishing the Owner’s Share edits

I’m thinking it will be October before I get the edits back and the Owner’s Share manuscript in shape, so bear with me. If I get the edits back and can get them incorporated faster, I will, but don’t be surprised if it takes a couple of months. That’s a long book.

Awesome! Just out of curiosity, will Captain’s and Owner’s Share come out as a single paper volume each, or will you have to go with two volumes apiece for these? (amazon is estimate the kindle edition of Captains Share at 468 pages, and I’m thinking that might be too big for Create Space.)

  2. The Captain says:

I’ll fiddle with the internal layout. I’m pretty sure I can get it under their 450 page limit 🙂

  3. Jon says:

Awesome news! I’ve been eagerly reading all of your updates waiting for this book to come out, can’t wait to get started! Glad that you’ve been able to get things sorted out as well Nathan!

  4. Mike says:

Thanks for posting the link. I did a search in Amazon and it did not show up. I was only able to get it by following the published link above.

  5. Delbert says:

    Where/when for the paper version?

  6. barbinbandon says:

Great news. I’m happy it’s coming together for you. You’ve had a rough year; many kudos for getting through so well.

And…downloaded and ready to read! Truly looking forward to this.

  7. Tony Toews says:

But I’m a Kobo person in Canada. No pressure.

Hmm, Double Share is available on Kobo’s website if that’s what you were waiting for. http://store.kobobooks.com/en-CA/ebook/double-share

Ohh, and I like your long books. I might not get to sleep on schedule but that’s my problem.

  8. Tony Toews says:

I had some smileys on my previous posting but the software removed them. Sorry if my posting came across a bit harsh.

  9. Sean says:

Excellent news, Nathan! Thank you – downloaded as soon as I saw the post.

  10. David says:

Got it! Congratulations on getting it done. Looking forward to OS and anything else you might publish in the SC universe.

  11. Brian says:

    What are the odds?

I originally read the first four books last year. For some reason I started re-reading them last week. I finished “Double Share” about an hour ago.

On a whim I figured I would check your website to see if there was an update for “Captain’s Share” and I was happily surprised to see it released today on Kindle.

    Trust Lois right?

  12. Radofera says:

Waited about a year for this release and finished it within a day.

Thank you for finally getting around to releasing it and its sequel soon.

  13. James Caplan says:

Well done, Captain. I could still hear your voice as I read it. I did highlight a few typos, however. Email me and I’ll send them along if you like.

  14. Jlaristotle says:

Thank you Captain. I got the kindle version. Cant wait for Owners Share and the continuation of the Solar Clipper universe stories especially Ish.

  15. randy hunt says:

Got mine too. Can’t wait to read it…

    Thanks

  16. Doc Coleman says:

Will the paper version have the same cover?

    Doc

  17. Bill Weldon says:

Captain, I had a dream on Monday night about Ishamel and Gretchen and your e-mail was in my inbox the next day. Strange but true, glad to get Captain’s Share on my kindle, looking forward to Owners Share despite having already pulled the pod casts. Take care and safe voyages

  18. The Captain says:

Paperbacks will all have the new covers and a redesigned interior.

The old ones will be collectors items if I get rich and famous 🙂

  19. The Captain says:

Captain’s Share is in the kobo processing queue, Tony.

All I can do is wait for their machinery to spit it out in the catalog. Keep looking. You may see it there before they notify me that it’s ready.

  20. Lance says:

I was really happy to see that you were able to get CS finished. I purchased it at B&N today, and will load it on my Nook and read along with your voice in my head tonight. Looking forward to OS this fall (or whenever you can manage). Cheers!

  21. Michelle G says:

Downloaded it, devoured it, loved it. I turned the page expecting a few more chapters (not wanting it to end) and cursed out loud in surprise that it was over. Hurry on Owner’s Share!!

  22. randy hunt says:

I too wished there was more… I guess I will have to go back and reread the series while I wait for the last book.

  23. randy hunt says:

Oh, love the new looks of the site…

  24. Doc Coleman says:

    I like the new theme!

    Doc

  25. The Captain says:

    Thanks, Doc. 🙂

  26. Wendy Zirkin says:

I have just discovered Quarter Share and could not put it down. I have devoured the next two books and have just bought Double Share. What a great series to discover and enjoy. I will hate to come to the end….already sad about that!

  27. Any news on a release date for the paper version? Trying to get my eldest boy to read is a chore but he burns through the Solar Clipper series in a few days each book and he’s just about to finish Double Share.

  28. The Captain says:

Paper backs of Captain’s Share are several weeks (if not months) away. Sorry. It’s a time consuming process and one that I have trouble forcing myself to grind thru. 🙁
