A year ago today, Quarter Share became available on Amazon. A lot has happened in that year, not the least of which is that we’ve sold 10,000 copies.

I have lost track, it is probably here somewhere, what is your next Audiobook project? I have listened to the Traders Tale twice, along with a few others, but now I’m hungry for more. Your audiobooks have been relaxing, entertaining and therapeutic on long drives. Thank you for making so many available. P.S. I’ve learned a lot about audio production in the last year listening and reading your posts, this has been quite helpful in producing my own online lectures, thanks.

10,000 copies of Quarter Share only, Nate?
I recently heard an interview on ‘I should be writing’, with an editor at Pyre Books (I hope I got the spelling right). He said that only a small minority of writers (somewhere in the 10-15% range) ever sell more than 10,000 copies of any one book. I haven’t found another source confirming those numbers, but if he’s right, well … wow.
Either way, as a ‘Solar Clipper’ fan of nearly the first hour, I am so happy this is working out for you!

I recently came across Quarter Share while searching Amazon for something new to read. Ordered it, just to see what it might be, inhaled it in one long reading and immediately ordered Half Share. Your name went onto the “buy anything that he puts out” list, along with the likes of Lois Bujold, C J Cherryh, and Elizabeth Moon. Keep writing, please! Even in this wretched economy there are folks out there who will support good work.
