Ish left the Lois for the academy at the end of summer, 2353. DS starts in May 2358, right after he graduated. This is 5 years, but he says multiple times that he spent 4 years at the academy. In Quarter Share, they belonged to the ship. In Double Share, they belonged to Ishmael. One of the reasons officers have a much higher mass allotment is that they're expected to maintain their own uniforms rather than wearing the ship's. And it was as anticipated fantastic. These are great stories. You have a great voice - when you read I feel like it is a small group next to a fireplace with you telling us the story.
