Double Share Promo

30 June, 2008 (15:15) | Books, Double Share

It occurred to me late last night that I needed a promo for people to play on other podcasts and I wanted to do something a little different.

How’s this?

I should probably point out that this IS a drill… the book’s not on Podiobooks yet.

UPDATE: Some of the listeners have raised the issue — Does this give too much away? I actually *thought* that when I was putting it together, and I think I agree that it does. I’ve got a revised version that I’ll put up today. Here’s new version that I think works a bit better.

Nathan, only you would think of such a clever ad.

Well, that ‘s certainly something different :-) . You sound like mister Maxwell in the ad, which – along with the first mate preying on the crew – scares me in a good way.

Well, one of the biggest complaints about the first series was that everybody was nice.

Heh. “Deep Dark” – we ain’t talkin’ choc’lit here.

Very nice!

I agree the flatness of inflection in the announcement voice does remind me of M Maxwell.

SUPERB! The Boatswain’s pipe call made me giggle, since it just fits so perfectly with the traditions of sea-going vessels.

I can’t tell you how much I’m looking forward to this hitting the download-stations. :D YAY!

Dude that whistle is down right erieeeeeeee. does this mean there are vampires in double share. I mean the first mates preying on the crew and it sound like the captan is scared to leave is room….. just kidding.

yeah I understand about there being no bad people. but here is my point people how many stories do you know out there at the moment that do not have sex, language, lots and lots of violence and are something that you would consider letting any age group listen too. I personally feel I could recommend Mr. Lowell’s first two books to anyone….. like my soon to be mother in law and all the secretaries at work, all my friends, random people. While who can I recommend Scott Sigler too? only those who are depraved and twisted as me or more. Minus some of the scenes this story really could have been geared to the young teen group as the next harry potter or lord of the rings.

last point Mr. Lowell, the true test to being an author is being able to write a story with no violence no sex and no foul language and if you can captivate an audience that my friends means that that person can tell one heck of a story.

Mr. Nathan Lowell WOW can you tell a story.

Glad you like it, Dustin! Thanks!

And if I can get my act together, it should be on Podiobooks this weekend sometime.

What an awesome idea for a promo! And very well executed to boot. This is going in the play pile right away!

Sweet! Will play that on next weeks episode. It’ll give me an excuse to rave about the share books for a few ticks :)

So it sound like you edit from the first time i heard it. Because i remember something about the ship not have any spirit some thing like that. Not that i mind.

Also near the end it sounds like you say Taday, or Tawday, maybe. I know it today but still.
Could just be my hearing.

Yes, this is a revised version. I had a couple of people ask if I wasn’t spoiling the plot too much in the other promo and I had to agree. So I revised it.

It *does* sound like “tahday” doesn’t it.
