Hi Nate
Cannot wait for double share
The share novels are the first audio books i've re-visited and dipped into to listen to favorite passages in the same way as i do with paper books i have enjoyed.
thanks so much for the hard work.

well I've seen your X Share books on podiobooks for quite some time. I finally downloaded quarter, enjoyed it and downloaded the other two the next day. Completely enjoyed them and discovered South Coast. I have been following your tweets about how many words a day you type and figured it was going to be the next South Coast book. I was thinking the other day, "hmm what could come after a full share... ah double share!" guess you already figured that out... cool, cant wait.

Hi Nate,
I've only just started listening to your books. I hope you'll forgive me for not getting to them sooner :)
Really great work, I'm loving every minute of Quarter Share and just cant stop listening.
Looking forward to the next book. Thanks for the many entertaining hours I've spent listening so far!

I've been timing it out and it works out to about 1000 words an hour. It's a little less when I'm being dense. A little more when I'm doing well. The other day I did a 3000 word chapter in 90 minutes. Yesterday I had an 800 word half hour in the morning and a 500 word hour later in the day.

Typically I shoot for 2000 words per chapter. I was pretty ruthless with myself early on, and refusing to end a chapter until I had at least 2000 words. As the story is gathering momentum, I'm being a little more organic and letting the action have more control over the word count. I'll clean out excess crappage and fleshout the skeletal passages in the next draft.

For me, the key is to get the story down. I need to get my head around it so I know where to add, what to cut.

I had a 5k word day yesterday - three shorter chapters but pivotal, I think. I started early in the day (4am) and stayed up late to finish the last one (11pm). I had a full day on my Day Job in the middle, but did manage to carve about 6 hrs out of the day to do the writing.

Today the book should break through the 60k boundary, unless I find a plot problem or run into Day Job conflicts.

4k per day? Deities and small aquatic creatures, how do you find that kind of time? 1000 or so on any given day accounts for every scrap of my spare time.
